LAST YEAR’S BLOCK PARTY was a HUGE SUCCESS, and we are excited to bring it back for 2025! This event embodies our mission of fostering an inclusive, art-filled environment for everyone in the Summerville community.
We will transform West Richardson Avenue in front of Public Works Art Center into a lively celebration featuring A LIVE MURAL PAINTING, ART-THEMED GAMES, LIVE PERFORMANCES, COLORFUL TREATS, AND SURPRISES FOR ALL AGES. The Block Party also serves as the reception for our popular SPARK COMMUNITY EXHIBITION, showcasing artwork from creators of all ages and skill levels. As our primary fund raiser, this event supports free admission, accessible art studios, and off-site art programs throughout the Lowcountry.

In 2017, Chef Romo opened his first concept, NICO, bringing his European training and appreciation for locally sourced ingredients, particularly seafood and oysters. In 2020, he opened Bistronomy by Nico in a quaint spot in downtown Charleston. Bistronomy by Nico is an approachable French Bistro that highlights innovative techniques and ingredients. His third concept, Laura, opened in Spring 2022 in Charleston’s neighboring, Summerville, serving rustic Italian food as an ode to his Italian Heritage.
