Tuesdays 4/1 – 5/6, 4-5pm, 6 weeks, After School Art for Elementary Students ages 6+

In this class, we will experiment with a variety of fun and engaging art mediums such as ceramics, sculpture, collage, drawing, and painting. Each session, students will be introduced to important artistic techniques and processes. Students will be encouraged to use their imagination and incorporate their own interests and ideas into each artwork they create. This level of creative choice allows for students to explore their own artistic style while enjoying the process of artmaking!

Hi! My name is Sophie Vigeant 🙂
I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Art Education. During my time studying Art Education, I served as the president of the National Art Education Association student chapter, and earned the Rising Senior Award for Art Education 2022 as well as the Art Education Service Award 2023. I am now on my second year of teaching Elementary School Art in Dorchester District Two. I also teach Art Camp here at Public Works during the summertime!

Teaching art to our youth is my greatest passion in life. I love watching my students grow and uncover their own unique artistic styles. It is my honor to serve and educate children through the means of artistic creation!
