DESCRIPTION:Turn fabric and paper into a one-of-a-kind notebook\, made entirely on the sewing machine. In this class\, your child will design and sew a custom fabric cover\, then machine-stitch the paper pages right into the binding. Every notebook is unique. Students choose their own fabric and can size their notebook exactly how they want it\, whether that’s a pocket-sized sketchbook or a full-size journal. \nPrerequisite: Child must have completed Make Your Own Stuffy before enrolling in this class. \nWhat your child will learn:\nMachine sewing skills beyond the basics\nSewing fabric to create a custom book cover\nBinding paper pages by machine\nPlanning and measuring a project of their own size and design \nMeet the Teacher: Ashley Huff \nAshley is a fourth-generation seamstress who grew up with a needle and thread in hand. While she launched Slash Alterations in 2014 to offer professional sewing services\, her true passion lies in passing on the timeless art of sewing to the next generation. \nOver the past five years\, Ashley has hosted sewing classes at multiple schools\, helping kids discover the joy of creating with their hands. She believes sewing builds more than just skills—it fosters confidence\, patience\, and creativity in every child. \nThrough her classes\, Ashley is committed to creating a welcoming\, encouraging environment where young learners can develop practical skills and a lifelong love for craftsmanship.
